How do you get a super good score in Google Pagespeed Insights?
Why is it so important for your website to have optimal speed? Google values websites that are designed for the visitor's convenience. Speed plays a major role in this convenience, because the visitor is (literally and figuratively) not waiting for a long loading time. The visitor (unconsciously) values this, and so does Google. Read on and find out how to get a super good score in Google Pagespeed Insights!

Google Pagespeed Insights, how does it work?
Google Pagespeed measures the speed of your website, on mobile and desktop. This is reflected in a score of up to 100/100 (and at least 0/100). Does this automatically mean that your website is not super fast if it does not achieve 100/100 in Google? We wouldn't necessarily say so: this tool is focused on Google's standards and thus really a Google Insight (and not a general insight). A somewhat lower value does not always automatically mean that the speed is your website is low, and conversely, a super high value does not always mean that it is fast either. So we want to emphasize that these are Google's standards, which (if you meet them) will allow you to achieve a high score in Google.

5 tips for high website speed
With the following 5 tips, you can improve the speed of your website and get a higher score in Google!
1. Arrange good hosting for your website
2. Optimize content above the fold
When a new visitor lands on your website, he immediately sees the first part of your homepage. So this content is immediately visible without scrolling. We also call this content 'above the fold'. Google wants visitors to understand and engage with your website right away, so it is important to construct this content well.
What does this have to do with your speed? Because this content plays such a large role in the subsequent steps taken by the visitor on your website, you need to ensure that the load time here is as low as possible. You take care of this by using a good structure and HTML. Make sure that the data above the fold, is reduced as much as possible. Make sure that the content above the fold comes into view first, before the other parts are loaded.
Is coding and HTML a mystery to you? Then we recommend having your website design in Remote by Monkey Vision. For us, code and HTML is a daily activity.
3. Reduce code as much as possible
The previous tip applies especially to the content above the fold, but it is also advisable to reduce the code in your overall website as much as possible. A website with all sorts of fancy gimmicks is a nice calling card, but Google is less of a fan of it. What does Google do love? Clear compact websites! We don't mean to say that your website shouldn't have fancy gadgets, but rather that you ditch as much unnecessary code as possible. With compact code, you will ensure better speed of your website.
Reduce the CSS, HTML and JavaScript on your website and remove excess formatting. No idea where to start? If you get your website design in Remote by Monkey Vision we will do it for you!
4. Optimize images and optimize the speed of your website.
When it comes to images, you can make a big gain for the speed of your website. Go through all the images on your website and resize them as much as possible. Try not to make your images larger than 300 kb, but don't make them smaller than 100kb either. That way your images load quickly, but also still appear nicely fullscreen.
Good to know: jpg images are smaller than png images! At Monkey Vision we knew this all along of course, let us design your website in Remote and we will ensure optimal speed.
5. Reduce your files for a lower layer time
We keep up with the pace of shrinking. The browser in which your website is viewed sends a request per file to the server for loading. Suppose your website consists of hundreds of large files, the communication between the browser and your server takes a very long time. And long communication means long loading time, so the speed of your website is low. Therefore, reduce your files where possible and merge them, this will make Google and your visitor very happy!
